My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gabe is a 7 yr old Black Dane who has had a very rough start and is not in the greatest shape. He has been a delight since he came into rescue. He has enjoyed meeting lots of dogs and getting a chance to play. He is now enjoying the comforts of his new foster home and is settling right in.
Medically he is ok but he has been starved and is about 20 pounds under weight. Gabe will remain on a Medical Hold until his physical condition improves and we can further evaluate him.
Gabe previously lives with cats, small children and other dogs with no issues. All he wants is someone to love on him and let him snuggle. We cant wait to see how great he looks as he puts on some weight.
Gabe came to MAGDRL in January. (5)

UPDATED 10 Feb 17
Gabe is doing AMAZINGLY well in his foster home. He is eating 3 times a day and is the most patient dog with food. I can put his food in a bowl and he will actually SIT and WAIT. Starved as he was. He is a gentlemen. He is feeling a lot better and we will be taking him soon to see how much weight he has gained. He is an average male height and only weighed 78lbs on his first day here. What have we learned about Gabe’s personality? He still has a TON of life left in him. He LOVES to play and has not met a person he doesn’t love. He likes to nuzzle his head into your belly for rubs and he is a huge leaner. He has not been in contact with dogs smaller than 70lbs but has been nothing but sweet with them. He currently lives with a male boxer, a female dane and another male dane. He plays nicely with them all and is often the initiator of play. It is so nice to see him coming along this way. Gabe will countersurf. Go figure…he was starved for a long time. He is completely house and crate trained, loves to play tug of war, is not vocal inside. Outside he will bark at people walking by and shows no prey drive in the yard. He is the sweetest Dane and is looking for his forever home.
