Facts about Millie

  • Breed: Corgi Mix
  • Color: Black - With Brown, Red, Golden, Orange Or Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
**Millie is currently being fostered in Houston. She is available for out-of-state adoption to the perfect forever family! Unfortunately, meeting Millie in person prior to her adoption will not be possible. Her adoption fee is $500USD, which will cover her transport to her new home and she is of course fully vetted. Because the flights are so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable. **

When she was just a young pup, Millie found herself in a local high kill shelter in Houston. She had a birth defect, which made her “unadoptable” in the eyes of the shelter staff and unappealing to rescue groups. Luckily, for Millie, she caught the eye of a Guardian Angel who got her to safety and got her through all of the vet care she needed.

Milie is an adorable little tri-paw Corgi mix. She is roughly 2 years old and a low riding 20-pounds. She is full grown and will not get any bigger. Because of her birth defect, amputation of one of her front legs was deemed the best possible option to give her the best chance at a full and healthy life. She is an active girl with a zest for life that is contagious if you are around her.

Millie is great with other dogs, but has a bit of a prey drive, so we don’t know that she would be well-suited for a family with kitties. She is a great size for any living environment. She is an ACTIVE girl, so she should be adopted by a family that can commit to getting her proper exercise and socialization. She would be a super fun dog park companion and life adventure buddy.

Millie’s ideal family will understand that she will take time and patience as she acclimates into her new life. She may have accidents, chew on things she is not supposed to, and bark in her kennel. It can take dogs a few weeks to properly acclimate to their new lives, so she is seeking a family that can give her this time and work with her on becoming an even more awesome dog than she already is.

Millie should be adopted by a family who plans to keep her indoors as part of a family - we do not adopt dogs into situations in which they will be left outside for extended periods of time unattended (for example, the entire work day).

Millie is house and kennel trained and walks well on her leash. She also looks super cute in a sweater and will your best friend if you give her the opportunity.

Millie is fully vetted and healthy (shots, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm negative). She is healthy and has no known health/allergy concerns. She has no side effects from her birth defect or subsequent surgery and it should not impact her in the future.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application which can be found on our website www.reggiesfriends.org. If you hover over the “adoptables” tab, the application will appear for you.
Our team processes applications within 5 business days of receipt and we can usually have adoptions finalized within 7-10 days. Adopters should be in a position to pay the adoption fee and take possession of the dog within 14 days of application.

If you have questions about Millie, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.

About Reggie's Friends - Arlington

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on street dogs and shelter cases that other rescues may not have the resources for. We live and love by our motto Street Life To Sweet Life.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application that can be found on our website at www.reggiesfriends.org under the Adoptables tab. Our team will then review the application, contact references, perform a vet-check, and request photos of the common areas of the house and yard that serve in lieu of a home visit. Following the completion of the application, we set up video chats either through Skype or Facetime between the foster and adoptive families.
