Quartz's Story...
Quartz is a rarity in our shelter for his all-white fur! He is a bit timid and needs a slow, gentle hand to approach him, but he has a desire to be pet and loved. He is one of our many cats in our shelter that needs some one-on-one time from a true cat lover who has some time to socialize with him. Quartz is around 1 or 2 years old, is neutered and current on his vaccines. He tested negative for feline leukemia and aids. If you have any questions about volunteering or if you would like to adopt, call the shelter at 757-365-6318 or email us at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Quartz, a Windsor Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Windsor, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Windsor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windsor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windsor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windsor paves the way for another one to be saved.
