Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brutus is a big handsome 1-year-old fawn Great Dane puppy. His previous owners were told not to get him neutered until he is fully grown, and that was a big mistake, which they are paying for by having to turn Brutus to the rescue.
Brutus is very big and very energetic. Being that he has not been neutered, his hormones are raging and he is too interested in other dogs. Previous owner sent him to very expensive training, but that did not help any, because he gets very distracted when there are other dogs around.
Brutus neutering is scheduled for 2/28. It will take about 30-60 days for him to adjust and not be so interested in female dogs. During that time, ,it will be good to work on his obedience.
Brutus need to be with someone who could work with him and handle his strength and stubbornness. It will be good to have him in a home with another playful dog. Adopter must have room for his XL kennel, since he is not to be trusted to be left free in the house. He also sleeps in his kennel. That is until he is over his puppy chewing stage.
If you have big dog experience and you think that you can handle Brutus, please fill out the adoption application on our website. www.pawsofaustin.org
