My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our sweet Pearl :)
This girl is recovering from her traumatic past where we are left to believe she was kept outside on a chain and/or chained up outside often. She was found as a stray in Detroit with a chain wrapped around her. We pulled her from the Detroit Animal Control in the beginning of February and she has been healing and learning to love life in her foster home :)

Pearl is missing approximately 15 teeth. Some of those were missing and broken at time of rescue but the others were pulled and she has had two dental surgeries to extract and repair the damage to the existing teeth she had. She doesn't let that stop her from anything though! She eats and drinks normally and chews on bones with her back teeth and the few she has on the side. She definitely has learned to deal with her issue! Not having teeth on one side of her mouth causes her tongue to hang out often and it's ridiculously adorable some of faces she makes!

We are guessing her breed to have some sort of Lab/Terrier/Pitbull but she has been guessed to be many of different things and we do not know for sure her breed but she has large feed and longer hair on her tail and abdomen and an adorable set of ears. Pearl is a blueish brindle color and is 55lbs. She is approximately 1- 2 years old.

Pearl is fostered with other dogs and children. We are not sure how she would respond to cats but she has a general love for everything so there is nothing to show us that she would not accept a cat, however she has never been cat tested.

Pearl's ideal forever home would be one where they can continue to work with her and teach her manners/boundaries as well as love. She is a playful and energetic girl who would need someone to be patient and understanding while she figures out what the good life is all about :)
