Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NEEDS HOME ASAP!
Did not get a home......they decided to have the vet put him down due to biting and snapping.
THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING ONLY: Charlotte Cocker Rescue of NC is not to be held responsible for the health or temperament of this dog. We have agreed to do this courtesy posting to help this family find a new forever home for this senior cocker boy. CONTACT INFORMATION: Marie Burnham, send an email message to: burnhamnc@aol.com if you are interested. Vet Reference required and there is a small adoption fee of $100 to make sure he gets a good home.
My name is Rascal and I am looking for a new forever home and someone to adopt me as their companion. I am a 13 year, 2 month old, purebred, black neutered cocker boy. My elderly owner loved me but had to go to a nursing home. I am being taken care of by the daughter and her husband, I have been here for just a few weeks. I am totally deaf (I use hand signals) and crate trained. Right now I am sad and uncertain about what has happened, so I don't like being left alone or being confined. I am not completely potty trained as I guess my owner didn't put me outside enough. I am currently let outside into a fenced backyard every one to two hours but I still potty in the house, so you will need to be understanding and patient with me.
I am good with other dogs and with cats. I DO NOT DO WELL WITH CHILDREN AND WILL SNAP, SO IT'S BEST THAT I FIND AN ADULT ONLY HOME. I like to be petted and some attention, I don't think that my owner gave me much of it, but she did love me in her own way. I am a good eater (I eat dry dog food w/some wet food mixed in) and I am not on any medications. I will do best in a home with a secure, fenced yard or you will always need to leash walk me when I go outside or somewhere with you. I do have this snappy attitude thing going on right now, so I should not be in a home with any children and you will need to be patient with me on certain things. I will do best in an adult only home with an experienced adopter who can afford my needs as they are necessary to keep me healthy as an older cocker boy. My family does not want to take me to the shelter but they do need to find me a home quickly because they have grandchildren that visit and I snap at them. Please give me a chance to live the rest of my life with someone who will take care of me and give me the home that I deserve.
