Puma's Story...
Meet Puma - Puma is approx. 5 yrs old weighing in at 16.5 lbs. He was 18 hours away from being euthanized at a high kill shelter. When we picked him up, he was very very scared and wanted to protect himself. We believe he was abused, he does NOT like to be handled roughly. He is now such a loving guy, it just took him a couple of days to realize his days of abuse are gone. Puma would make an awesome emotional support dog.

Puma would be best suited in a calm environment with someone who wants a companion who enjoys spending time with. Someone who wants him to sit on the chair next to you, and lay at the bottom of the bed with you at night. He does not need a lot of exercise, 2-3 short walks a day is plenty. A small back yard to do his business would be ideal, although he is 100% potty trained to wait until his walks. Children would be on a case by case basis.

If you feel you fit the bill for being Puma's forever human, please visit www.lifesavingpaws.org. There is an application that will need to be copy and pasted onto a word doc. or the body of an email and sent to Livesavingpaws@yahoo.com. Thank you for looking. His pix. does him no justice. he is adorable. His little walk and his blue eye makes him a very unique puppy. Puma is a non shedding dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Puma, a Playa Del Rey Havanese/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese/Shih Tzu for sale in Playa Del Rey, or seeking a Havanese/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Playa Del Rey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Playa Del Rey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Playa Del Rey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Havanese/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Playa Del Rey paves the way for another one to be saved.
