Blackie is a little Black Lab. He arrived at the shelter on 9/1/2015. He and 2 of his litter mates still wait.
He is 2 years old. Blackie is shy, but easily persuaded with food. He will need a lot of time and attention. He is medium size and weighs 32 lbs. He is up to date on shots and has been neutered.

It is our primary mission to offer refuge, nourishment, medical care, and to find a loving home for life for every healthy and treatable animal surrendered to us.
The Clay County Animal Shelter serves local people and their pet companions. We are not affiliated with any national organization, so donation dollars provide benefits and services to animals and their guardians right here in Clay County, including:
• Shelter, food, and veterinary care for homeless animals
• Pet adoptions at the shelter and at off-site events
• Foster care for sick, injured, and pregnant animals
• Lifesaving medical care including surgery
• Behavior rehabilitation for dogs and cats with problems

Our Adoption Process...

1. Fall in Love
Stop by the shelter to find your new best friend.
2. Meet with a Staff Member
Our staff will fill you in on the pet’s story and answer any questions you may have. These questions will help ensure that your new pet will be a great fit for your family.
3. Complete the Adoption
After you find the dog or cat that best fits your home, you will fill out an adoption contract.
Adoption Fees

The regular adoption fee for a cat is $30 and for a dog is $50.
To make your adoption speedy, please bring the following items with you:
• Picture ID with your current address
• Your landlord’s telephone number, if you’re a renter
• Proper form of payment (cash or check)
All adoptions include spay, neuter, rabies, and dhlpv/fvrcp vaccine.
