Facts about Ellen

  • Breed: Pekingese Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Ellen is a sweet and very loving baby. Her mother is a Pekinese mix, not sure what her father is, so it is a complete guess on her heritage. One thing I do know is Ellen is a doll. She is a petite girl with lanky legs. Ellen just turned 2 years old and weighs about 25-30 lbs. Her beautiful face and soulful eyes will tell you all you need to know, that Ellen is a wonderful girl and will make a great addition to your family. Ellen is very timid and scared when she meets new people and in new situations. She will need someone who will give her lots of love and patience to help build her confidence and increase her comfort level.
Ellen gets along great with other dogs. Ellen does well in the house and is crate trained. If you are interested in Ellen, please email us at

About Rookie's Rescue -

About Our Rescue Group...

Rookie's Rescue was founded in memory of my beloved companion, Rookie.

Rookie's Rescue is a virtual shelter, meaning all of our pets live in loving foster homes, not a facility/shelter environment. The pets listed on this site live in a foster home located in TN, VA, NY or PA.
The pet you are interested in, may or may not be in your area, but transport is available and included in the adoption
**NOTE** At this time all available pets are in foster homes in TN - BUT transport is included in the adoption fee

Rookie's Rescue is committed to helping abandoned, neglected and abused pets finding loving homes and
educating the public about responsible pet ownership with a strong emphasis on spaying and neutering.

Rookie' Rescue saves pets from over crowded shelters and animal control facilities, who due to lack of space and overwhelming volume are forced to euthanize thousands of healthy, adoptable pets each year. We will also accept pets from owners who can no longer care for their pet. When the animal enters our program, they undergo a complete health check from a local vet to make sure the pet is healthy. The pet is treated for any medical needs, is brought up to date on all vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. The pet is then socialized and assessed by our behaviorist. When the animal has been determined healthy and socialized, it is placed for adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Because we are a "virtual" shelter, there is no facility for you to visit all available pets. The pets in our program live is private foster homes.
Our foster homes are located in NY, NH, PA, VA and TN so the pet you are interested in adopting may or may not be in your area. The first step in the process is to contact us via email at and let us know which pet you are asking about. We will then send you an application and further detail about the process
