Additional info:

Barney is a very sweet, gentle boy who wanted out of the shelter more than anything. He is a complete cuddlebug who looks like a little teddy bear. He'll make the perfect lap dog, and companion. When he came to us, he found a small bag and crawled inside and sat in it for over an hour. He obviously was a purse dog at some point. He sleeps well in his crate. He was a little growly with another dog but we think that he was just unsettled by his shelter experience and the discomfort from neutering. He has a little leash aggression towards other dogs when walking but we are working with him on this. He is ready for his forever home right now.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Encino Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese for sale in Encino, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese dog from a breeder in Encino.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Encino already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Encino breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Encino paves the way for another one to be saved.
