Louie's Story...
Louie is a FUNNY adult Shih Tzu. We are estimating his age to be 5-7 years old. He is full of fun, he likes to have chew toys, likes to go on walks. Louie came to us from a puppy mill broker in Missouri, probably used for breeding stock. Louie loves people and does well with dogs and cats. He ran right for the pool and jumped in, landing on a raft and taking a ride around the pool! He immediately was using the doggie door when he arrived at his foster home and nearly housetrained now! Louie has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (Rabies, Bordetella, 5-in-1), and had a dental. His adoption donation is $200. He lives in a foster home in Gilbert and can be seen by appointment most evenings or weekends.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Mesa Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
