My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alice was rescued off the streets very sick and tired from a rough life... She was heartworm positive and clearly has had numerous litters of puppies :(
She has gone thru the heartworm treatment successfully and is now ready for adoption and healthy!

Alice is guessed to be about 3 years old. She weighs 60lbs and is a shorter stocky girl who loves to cuddle and thinks she is a lap dog! Alice is a relatively lazy girl who loves to just hang out and would be great best friend to just hang around the house with! She gets excited when people come over and after about 10 minutes she is calm and just wants cuddles! She is house trained and very well mannered when home alone and does not need a crate.

She loves children and all people and greets everyone with love and hugs. Alice would definitely benefit from a strong leader and someone who can continue working with her on boundaries/manners because although she is relatively lazy she is very strong and can be stubborn, like most dogs in her breed.. She is doing great with her foster family but it will need to carry into her forever home. Infants or toddlers could be an issue for a home with Alice only because of her lack of manners currently and her weight.. she absolutely loves kids but could knock over small babes unintentionally..

She is curious with cats and their relationship would have to be based on how the cat treats dogs..
Alice is good with submissive calm dogs. She cannot be with a dominant or over playful dog or she gets defensive of her surroundings. We believe from living outside for so long she has just experienced some horrible things and we just want a home that is able to keep showing her love, stability and affection. For this factor we have deemed Alice to be best in a home as an only dog so that she can be spoiled and loved and not have to feel like she has to share something that she can finally call hers! She is great in public with dogs and enjoys trips to the pet store and walking in the park.. but we believe it's best if she does not share her home with another dog.

Alice will jump a standard 4' fence if left unattended. So a 6' privacy fence or someone committed to taking her out on a leash if there is no fence is necessary for her forever home. In her foster home she is taken out on a leash everytime and is now used to it and does great!

Alice is far from the perfect dog but from living the past she has our rescue does not blame her for her tendencies. She has overcame horrific living conditions and spent years in survival mode. Months in her foster home have proven that she is an amazing girl who deserves a happy ever after!! She is an absolute lover and wants nothing more than to be loved and love you back!! There has not been one person who has met her that hasn't absolutely loved her!!
