Mary Jane's Story...
Meet Mary Jane! Mary Jane is about a year and a half old, currently weighs 40lbs and was transferred from another shelter. She can seem like a nervous nellie in her kennel, but once she's out she's a social butterfly! This girl not only looks fabulous in pink, but is a whirlwind of fun. She is so thankful to get out of her run, she looks up at you non stop on her walks and appreciates some time to get her pets and playful energy out before continuing on with your journey. She likes to get where she's going, so a little assistance with learning to slow her roll might be needed. With her still being new, we are not yet sure how she is with other dogs, cats or kids. She would absolutely love to have some visitors and a chance at finding her new home! Why not come in and see what she's all about? You never know, she might just pick you!

Mary Jane is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mary Jane, a Wilmington Mixed Breed (Medium)/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Medium)/Pointer for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Medium)/Pointer dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Medium)/Pointer breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Medium)/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
