My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cocoa! He is about 10 weeks old, weighs 12 pounds, and looks like a retriever mix. Because we don't know his parents, only those willing to take pot luck in terms of what breed and size he grows up to be, should apply!

Cocoa came to us with his sister Latte, and their foster mom says "these two pups are great! So sweet, so chill... they play play play and then crash, either in the puppy pen in my living room or on my dog's big doggy bed. At night, they both go to bed in the puppy pen and sleep all night!! Not a peep until they hear you in the morning."

Cocoa is a perfect little brother. He is a Love, with the temperament of a sweet little boy: he likes to play, but then he will lie belly up next to you on the couch and chill right out! He listens when you speak to him, and is learning to do his business outside. He is curious and roams around the yard, but comes as soon as he sees you. He is very people-oriented and would love a family with kids, another dog, and a yard to play in. Because he is so young Cocoa needs a family where someone is home part or all of the day, to keep him on a potty schedule and continue his socialization. Puppy obedience school is also a requirement of adoption.

You can meet Cocoa at his current foster home-- Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette--during normal store hours 7 days a week (847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com). Although he is such a Love you will want to take him home on the spot, so please note you will have to submit an application and go through the approval process. (Email info@adoptapet-il.org or call 847-550-9690 for an application. For a faster response, we suggest you email.)

Cocoa's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, bordetella vaccination, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, routine deworming, flea preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.
