Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Teddie was rescued from Oakland Shelter, he was peeing blood when the adopter got there. She was informed he was not to be adopted, because he was bleeding and they decided not to vet him. She plead with them to let her take him, she signed off on him saying he was her responsibility and she rushed him to the vet. He had kidney stones and she spent $1100 to have surgery to get them out. He was a young dog at the time, she kept him on prescription food and that has allowed Teddie to be healthy but he suffered in pain and she didn't think about that. He attached to her pre teen son and was very happy. Another child was born into the family, a separation and a she had to take on two jobs. The son he was so attached to moved in with his father so he was no out of Teddie's life and he was all of a sudden home alone for 11 hours a day five days a week. He can't take it. He's used to having a buddy to play with him, he's used to people being home, he's very depressed. So we are looking for a same situation for him now. A non smoking home, with a yard and someone with the energy to play with him and cuddle him and be a best friend. We've done a dental on him, he's had his blander stones removed and he's in perfect health for maybe the first time in his life. He loves another dog to play with, but a hyper puppy might be way too much for him. He'd be great with another middle aged dog who has energy to play and is his size. He's on a prescription food and may need to remain on it for life. So adopter would need to have the financing available for a premium prescription food. He's light hearted when he's happy, he needs to go out every few hours to go potty just because that is his schedule he become used to. He actually knows how to pitch to you, he loves to play ball. I've never seen a dog do this before, but he's a pro at it.
He's 19 pounds of love and so anxious to be in a home where he's a valued family member once again. He's about six years old..... call or text me at 517 294 4514 to meet Teddie or learn more about him. He LOVES cats, dogs, and kids. He's a joy. But he doesn't want to live with LITTLE kids but he's ok with visiting little kids.
