My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sam is a sweet 2 years old Red doll-faced Persian. Sam is blind. I just adore this easy-going boy. He just needs a good home that will be patient with his blindness. All being blind means is that he needs a quiet home. You have to watch under your feet for him, and you give him a bit more time to get out of your way. He is very outgoing, but it does take him about a week to feel comfortable in his new surroundings. He does get along with other cats, but he would also be fine alone. No small children, please.

Most importantly, Sam is such a sweet boy and a great cuddler. I suspect he will be a lap cat once he is comfortable.

Sam is a Kuwaiti cat, and he has not had an easy life. Imagine being blind in a place where you are unwanted. Well, he is very much wanted here, and we will find him the perfect home where he can be just Sam, not Sam, the blind cat.

Are you that home? If you are interested in adopting this special boy, please contact us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a safe foster home, and we will be very picky about his next home. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $175.

Please note, he is shaved into a lion cut.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
