“AGNES” IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. This 1 year old (02/10/2016), black Standard Poodle sadly comes to us from a very loving family who found they just had no time to give her all the attention she needed and deserved. Thank you, Jim!
Agnes is a 37 pound, 26″ tall (measuring from the floor to her shoulders) spayed female. She is full of fun and happiness as she is still considered a puppy! Yes, she just loves to romp, jump, play, run and run some more! What fun!! She especially enjoys playing with toys. The short video below shows how much fun Agnes can have on our couch with a simple toy!
She has been a perfect lady in our home (house trained) loves to go for walks and is fine with men (as pictured) as well as women. This is is a gentle, “soft”, easy going, loving girl with not a mean bone in her body. I have only heard her bark once and that was when she wanted to come into the house and play with the other Poodles!
Please be aware that Agnes has a difficult time adjusting to new situations. When she first arrived, she was very scared and did NOT listen to any simple commands of “come”, “sit”, “stay” and “no”. Even during her evaluation, we found she was very reserved in various environments she was taken to.
After a few days of loving attention, patience and time, she warmed up and did just fine! Also, adding treats (VERY food motivated!!!), we could clearly see that she is intelligent and easily learned to “come”, “sit” and “stay”. We are still working on “NO” and “Leave it”. But after all…. she is a “teen-age” puppy who still loves to chase her tail!
Because Agnes was so badly matted, our groomer had to shave her naked. But Agnes did just fine with the event and enjoyed all the positive attention.
At our Veterinarian appointment, all the hair in Agnes’s ears was removed, and thankfully there were no ear infections. She was Vet checked healthy, heartworm tested negative, wormed, and her shots were updated.
Agnes is a wonderful, loving Standard Poodle who, like most all Standard Poodles, is prey driven. She will need to be adopted by a family with no small dogs and no cats. Another large, soft and easy going (not dominate) dog who likes to play, would be just fine. However, Agnes will be just fine by herself as a member of your family. She is also just fine with older children.
You must also have past Standard Poodle experience, be physically able to keep up with a Standard Poodle puppy and have time to work with her as she needs obedience and confidence. Also, because she loves to run, a fenced yard will be given priority too.
Certainly a rare find to the right family! Her $800.00 adoption fee includes our Minnesota state sales tax, her recent Vet check, grooming, all her Vet records, a bag of quality dog food, treats, leash, collar, a blanket, a big new dog bed and various toys.
Agnes is Home Again micro chipped and registered. She is also AKC REGISTERED. We will provide you with a copy of her papers and pedigree, however the AKC papers are NOT included with her adoption.
