My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

McGregor is a 1 year old fox red male neutered labrador retriever who weighs about 53 pounds.

McGregor is a very timid, shy boy. He is sweetly and very carefully trying to navigate his way with humans. He will require a patient home that will continue to work with him and his insecurities.

He must go to a home with other dogs. He enjoys the company of other dogs and he will play if invited. He whimpers when separated from his buddies.

McGregor is house trained and crate trained. He will head into his crate without being asked as he finds it a safe place to hang out. He likes to take it slowly when getting to know his humans. With time he has started to snuggle up in bed, sit when asked, and take food ever so gently from his foster human. McGregor is easily frightened and will do best in a quiet home with a secure six foot physical fence. He is just learning about steps and for now will live on the first floor of a multi story home. He is not ready to venture out for walks right now preferring to stay at home with his canine buddies

UPDATE: McGregor continues to blossom and come more out his shell everyday. He is definitely a morning person- er Pup. He gets excited in the AM to go outside and do his thing. After that, he is pure couch potato. He just loves to lay around in front of the sliding glass doors, which is his favorite spot. McGregor gets along great with all other dogs. He has even learned to share is dog bed with the foster puppy who is staying here. McGregor is a very easy going dog who just likes to lay around for most of the day. Every once in a while he will engage in play with the resident pups but, more often is he happily taking a snooze while they play around him. He is sleeps though the night without making a peep. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He does the cutest little morning dance when it is time to get up and go outside. He takes treats very gently and enjoys the occasional belly and ear rub.

He will need to go to a home with another confident pup (or two) to show him the ropes and people who are patient with him. McGregor will warm up to you- on his own time. Humans just need to let him be for a bit so that he figures out that you are okay. He is excellent in the crate and goes right in. He currently spends the night on a dog bed in his foster Mama's room and is very happy there. He hasn't learned about toys yet but, he does show interest in a ball when thrown and I think it is just a matter of time before he learns how to play fetch.

This beautiful boy loves playing with all dogs. He wants a home with least one other furry 4-legged friend but the more the merrier for him. He also wants a 6' tall privacy fence as he loves being outdoors.
