found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Dolly & Peanut were rescued when Howlin4Spirit was asked to help with an 'unwanted litter' (& in the end, Mom/Dolly & Dolly's sister, 'Peanut') situation, in Rutherford County, NC.
Their past owners(very loving senior couple) had too many to want to care for into their 'twiligh' years so asked Howlin4Spirit to help the pups get their necessary medical needs taken care of and find them safe, responsible, loving homes. Then, they asked if I would consider finding homes for mama/Dolly & her sister, Peanut, too?
They stated that they'd gotten Dolly & Peanut from her sister, who'd said they were 'Chihuahua/miniDachshund'. But, there can be more than 1 'daddy' in any given litter, if unsupervised.
I figure her sister may also have had a menagerie of small breedX dogs who were also reproducing and so 'sister' gave her 2 teeny-tiny awesome cuties that she just couldn't resist; then THEY start having babies!....happens ALL the time; where there are no laws regulating how many dogs you can have.
THE GOOD THING is that these folks recognized that all of their pets were not getting enough quality attention, even though they were loved, they knew best to seek a better life for these 2 little sweeties.
Dolly is white w/black and appears to be a Papillion/ChihuahuaX & weighs 9lbs. She's a LOVER and an excellent 'watch dog'. We are looking for a somewhat active woman who works from home or an early retiree. Sweet, friendly and outgoing. Wants your lap to be her World and to be your little 'look out' for scary things/people. Devoted and gentle.
Peanut 'appears' to be a Chi/Doxie/JackRussellX. We see no Papillon in Peanut. She has a longer and is slightly taller than Dolly. Past owners said 'Chiweenie', but her coarse white w/tan scruffy muzzle and coat tells us something extra is in her breeding. She weighs 12lbs and is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly to kind, calm and gentle handling, which allows her to become sweetly trusting and loving.
Crate-trained for nights and piddle-pad trained for days, which is excellent for apartment-life, especially if you need to go out for any extended period.
However, they are only 1yo so require at least 2 walks daily for proper exercise.
adoption fee: $225 each or $400/both girls(includes spay, micro-chip, DA2PP, Bordatella and Rabies vax, current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention, parasite-free, current health certificate, Martindale collar and 6' leash, current health certificate, chew toy, knee cap bone and 'rescued dog' car magnet.
These pups are in and will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC until their adoptive families are found and approved.
We will be happy to send more pix and videos, upon request.

Howlin4Spirit Companion Animal REScue and senior Hound Sanctuary has given Rutherford County, NC residents an alternative to taking their unwanted pets to Rutherford Co, NC's ONLY animal facility, a 'high-kill' Animal Control(run by the Sheriff's Dept and inmates from a local minimum-security prison). We have rescued over 8.400 dogs, 3 stray cats and 1 pitiful pony, since January, 2004.
