Izzy's Story...
Izzy is a very special 10 month old Chiwienee. Izzy was a victim of animal abuse by her owner. She was removed from the home at the tender age of 2 months and placed in care of the Wilkes County Animal Shelter. Izzy was to remain in the Shelter until a Court Order releasing Izzy from the abusive owner was heard. Days went by then weeks then months pending the Court Order Hearing. Izzy lived in the Animal Shelter for 8 months. Finally the Court Order Hearing took place. She is now in Foster care and ready for adoption. Despite everything that Izzy has endured she is the sweetest most loveable, playful and friendly puppy. If you are interested in adopting Izzy and giving her a loving forever home that she deserves please contact Teresa Crawford at southerngal7961@yahoo.com or text 336 452 7855

The adoption fee is $110 which covers all the vet work that has been done including a heartworm test and for puppies their spay/neuter when old enough. For more information or an adoption application please contact

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Izzy, a North Wilkesboro Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in North Wilkesboro, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in North Wilkesboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Wilkesboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Wilkesboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Wilkesboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
