My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3/10/17 - Meet Callie!

Callie is a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix and weighs about 58 pounds. She is super-smart and very active! She learns tricks very quickly and knows her basic, sit, stay, come, down, heel as well as multiple tricks such as roll-over, jump on, jump over, close the door and find certain objects. She needs daily walks/jogs/hikes and activities that engage her mentally. Callie loves the outdoors and one her her favorite activities is hunting mice!

She's house-trained and will bark or whine at the door to let you know she needs to go out, and when she wants to come in. She loves all people, but is also independent. She hasn't been around cats but she does have a strong prey drive so cats probably wouldn't be a good idea. Callie likes most dogs, but will be protective of her things when other dogs are around.

Callie will be an amazing dog for an active person looking for a smart and loyal companion!

Callie has seasonal allergies which start somewhere in June to about September so she takes Apoquel prescribed by her vet. It's a daily pill and it costs about $40 per month.

She was also experiencing incontinence while she slept so she is on medication. That is a once every 10 days pill and it is about $45 per year. Since taking it for about a year and a half now she has not had a single issue with incontinence.

The adoption fee of $250 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.
