ABOUT ME: Hi friends! My name is Scamp and I am so excited that you are interested in me. The vet has indicated I am about 5 to 6 years old! My breed is a guess, as you see I came from a local pound. I was quite a mess when I came in! I need a dental, I had skin and ear infections, and well now that I am vetted, I am really looking forward to going to a home that will never let me get in that condition again! First off I need to tell you that IF you have any CATS...I am NOT the dog for you. I am NOT good with cats. I DO LOVE other DOGS AND KIDS. So if you have kids or other dogs that is perfectly fine with me. If you do not have kids or dogs well I am a cuddle bug, but also playful, so if you and I exercise or play then snuggle that too should be ok, however, my foster has another dog and so it may take time for me to get used to being without a friend so you would need to be patient. Now when they did all of my vetting it was detected that I do have some arthritis and therefore I am kept on Glucosamine tablets, which is inexpensive and it is great for adults both human and canine to prevent further joint damage and to keep us in good joint health! As far as my potty, before coming into the pound the people who had me had potty trained me but then my owner got sick and the family started keeping me outside! I have done GREAT in my foster home, but again they have another dog and a doggy door so while I sure know where I am supposed to go here and have done well at your home you will need to be patient with me and show me your door, prevent accidents at first with crating me appropriately, and also just plan on rewarding me while we bond over the process of me getting used to your home, your door, your yard, and most importantly YOUR schedule, which needs to be structured. As for the car, I am a great traveler. I enjoy going places with my foster mom. Once again, I am a cuddler after our exercise and play time so I really want a new owner who will include me in their DVR, Netflix, and tv time! After being kept away from the family outside it is important for me to be able to have the closeness with an owner who wants me to be such a part of their life because I spent enough time on the "outside" of their home and family time. So to recap if you are looking for a dog who loves to be with people, enjoys the company of other dogs and kids, and is a good traveler, then you should definitely go complete the application to adopt me at: WWW.CTHAR.ORG
