Lovie's Story...
Puppy Mill Save, Lovie would have been locked in a cage having babies for years and then thrown away when she was too old to produce.... that is the life of puppy mill dogs. Thank National Mill Dog Rescue for getting her to Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego to find her a home where she will be the center of attention (she is a bit needy) and all the TLC she can handle. Born in 2014 she is just over 2 years old and under 8 pounds. She would like another small dog her age to play with in the home. For more info on Lovie please send in your completed application (use this link http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/adoption-application/)
Adoption fee $400 includes her spay, shots utd, lifetime registration of microchip and the knowledge that you have rescued a great dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lovie, a San Diego Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
