My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beauty is just the latest victim of sad circumstance at the shelter, yet another cat who lost her loving home for reasons beyond her control, and beyond her comprehension. Her lifelong companion, the friend Beauty had known for all of her 11 years, passed away, leaving her homeless. Beauty had lived a quiet life with her elderly friend, enjoying a lap and daily combing, but now this petite black kitty finds herself alone, save for the companionship of the other shelter cats and the volunteers. She had a brief stay in foster care before she came to the shelter, and she did react nicely to the two dogs in the home, gentle dogs that did not cause her stress in any way, so she trusted them and shared her space with them. But the foster stay was only temporary, and now it is up to us to find a new home and companion for this sweet, middle-aged cat.

She would probably make a good companion to anyone with a quiet home, such as a single person or a senior. She really does enjoy being doted on for a bit, being brushed and held a little, soaking up some love. She’s not bothered by the other shelter cats — she doesn’t quarrel with them, nor does she hide from them. She just explores the room a bit, and then finds a nice cozy or tower to nap on, so she should be fine in a home with quiet, laid-back cats like herself, or with dogs that are of similar temperament.

Beauty is spayed, litter-box trained, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.
