Baxter's Story...
"Baxter" is a cute one-year old male Terrier/Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on March 13, 2017 after he was found in the Fleming Ohio area.

This adorable little man has a tan-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a darling face with a black mask and short floppy ears. "Baxter" resembles a little bandit with his black mask and black muzzle :)

"Baxter" was putting up a brave facade to hide the fact that he is a scared little boy in a strange place, so we opted to take his photos where he was most comfortable (on his blanket-covered bed in his kennel).

"Baxter" isn't a very large dog and currently weighs 32 lbs. He will be available for adoption on March 16, 2017 if he is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Marietta Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
