My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nellie was owner surrendered to Athens Animal Control when her family decided to move away and not take her with them. They reported that she had to have her leg amputated after she was attacked by another dog. :( You wouldn't know from meeting her that there was any trauma in her past, though, because Nellie is sweet as she can be and has never met anyone she didn't love.

Nellie is surprising fast for only having 3 legs and has no trouble keeping up with her other doggie friends. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is belly rubs, though. :) So far, Nellie knows "sit" and is working on "down", she does well in the crate, is doing great with her potty training, and is very patient around food (she waits quietly making excellent eye contact until you release her to take it). She also offers a "sit pretty" which we are trying to capture into a cute trick she can do on command. While she does have some playful energy (she's only a year old), she isn't overly energetic and can be pretty lazy around the house. She'd make a great companion for a variety of homes, so please call our Eastside location to set up a time to meet this sweet girl!
