Rex's Story...
This sweet, mellow boy was found curled up in a ball in a shelter waiting for the day that would end his life. Polka Dogz couldn't let that happen and we scooped him up and brought him into our rescue. As soon as he arrived he knew his life was starting over. Within minutes Rex was checking everything out and meeting all the dogs and greeting all the people. Now his tail never stops waggine!
Rex is a mellow, friendly little guy who gets along with everyone. We believe he is about 10 years old and ready to start a new life with a family to love. Is it yours? Rex is the epitome of loyalty and will follow you everywhere with adoring eyes. He would do best in a calm home. Please adopt Rex.
Rat Terrier, ~10 years old, less than 15 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rex, a Oakland Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
