My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at www.paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered.
Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states.

COURTESY LISTING: DOG IS STILL IN FAMILY HOME

Nellie is an absolutely sweet 4 year old Bloodhound/Lab mix who would love to be in a home where she can be the center of your loving attention. Want to be her best friend?! She will basically do anything for a treat. She loves people and gets so excited and could work on her manners when greeting others. She is house trained, knows basic commands, spayed, and up-to-date on all her shots. This precious girl is looking for her new favorite person to play fetch with, cuddle with during thunderstorms, and is willing to clean up any food you might drop on the floor!

Favorite things:
FOOD: She truly loves food and will do anything for a treat.

Squeaky Tennis Balls:
Nellie loves to play fetch and LOVES squeaky tennis balls. She has a few outside that she almost has constantly in her mouth, as well as a few inside that she loves for you to just toss up into the air so she can catch.

Car Rides:
Roll down the window for her on a car ride and she is in bliss.

Other Information:
She is completely housetrained and does not chew on anything. She was crate-trained for about the first two years that we had her but she now roams the house free and we have not had a single problem.
She knows basic commands: sit, down, stay, shake (paw)

She loves to play the “stay” game where you tell her to stay and back away from her and throw her ball as high up in the air as you can so she can try and catch it
\
She was allowed on our furniture for a while; however, she has not been allowed on our furniture for about 5 months now and has been doing really well with it.

She is afraid of fireworks and thunderstorms and becomes attached to you when this is happening or she goes into our basement where it is quieter. Her fear does not seem to bring out any chewing, bathroom issues, etc.

Ideal Home:
Nellie would love to be in a home where she can be the center of your loving attention. She needs a more quiet environment with no small children. She currently lives with other dogs, and does well with those who have confident personalities. Dogs her own size would be ideal! She would also love a home without a pooch, as she loves people more than anything! A fenced yard would be perfect for her energy level!

She has met cats and been non-reactive so she may do well in a home with a cat!
