My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammie came from West Virginia where he was adopted by a family who unfortunately could not keep him, so he came to Ohio in search of his forever home.

Sammie is 3 years old and around 50 pounds of mixed breed, possibly boxer and hound. He is calm and low energy in the house, very obedient and does not get into stuff or chew on things. He had a couple of accidents during his first days in his new foster home, but has been perfect since then. Sammie does not like to be in a crate but can generally be trusted to roam freely.

Outside Sammie is a high-energy, athletic dog who wants to run and play and chase ball. He is super friendly and great with kids, but can be reactive when meeting other dogs, though he gets along perfectly with his foster's dog. Once Sammie realizes the other dog won't hurt him, they're friends forever!

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org
