Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Harlan is a sweet boy who loves other animals. He is very shy and reserved when meeting new people but is slowly learning that no one is going to hurt him :) He loves life and warms up quickly to people once he knows they mean him no harm and he also bonds quickly and will always look to his person or other dog for reassurance.
Harlan is a 1 year old Rat Terrier Mix, who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Harlan is house trained but currently not able to use the crate successfully - he is learning to not be afraid but due to his past he is terrified of being crated.
Harlan's ideal home would be one where they can spend time with him and help him come out of his shell and adapt to being loved and showing love. He would benefit from lots of socialization and continued training to instill confidence and security in him. At this time we would suggest no children under the age of 5, just due to boundaries and that Harlan needs a slower introduction to new people and young children normally do not respect boundaries. Harlan has met and interacted with children and would love to be around children who respect his space and would never put him in a situation he is uncomfortable in :)
