My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CARE is putting on a show to raise funds for our rescue horses! The CARE Benefit Horse Show will be at Rounds Ranch Arena in Bradley, SC, on July 15th, 2017. Our adoptable horses will be showcased, and your horses are invited to participate! We will be raffling off a football autographed by Dabo Swinney, head coach of the Clemson Tigers. More information about the show, the classes, times, and awards can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/490767607923824/

Hammer is a 15.1 hand approximately 10 year old Paint gelding (Paint breed, though not Paint color). He's a very sweet boy who loves to be groomed. He's an easy keeper, goes barefoot, and doesn't need any special care. Hammer gets along well with mares or geldings.
Hammer is no longer rideable, however, due to a condition called Wobbler's disease. It affects the spinal cord in his neck which leads to him not being athletic enough to safely carry a rider anymore. It is not a painful condition and he can do groundwork such as a lunging or learning tricks/games.
Hammer is up for long term free lease, meaning there is no adoption fee for him. The person doing the free lease will be providing all his care as if he is yours, but if you are ever unable to care for him, you would return him to us.
Please consider giving this sweet boy a home! To apply to do the free lease, please fill out an adoption application at crossroadsanimalrescue.org
Hammer is in Seneca, SC.

Our horses have received their basic vaccinations (Rabies vaccine, EWT combo vaccine) at the time of adoption. They have been dewormed and have a negative Coggins test as well. All horses have received a hoof assessment and trimming. Horses are also microchipped.

We do our best to determine what amount of training they have had and to represent them as accurately as possible. However, we usually do not know the history of our horses, so we determine training by how the horses act after we get them. Please call ahead or email to set up a time to meet our horses if you are interested in adopting. They are at foster homes so we may need up to a couple days notice in order to schedule a time for you to see them.
We desire for our horses to find a good home where the horse will be a good fit with the person adoption him/her. With that goal in mind, we do our best to accurately represent everything, good and bad, with our horses.
CARE provides one week free boarding until you can pick up your new horse. Adoption fees are sometimes negotiable to the right home. For more information, please email us at drkathyjordan@yahoo.com You can see our adoption applications and and more info about our rescue on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org. To make the adoption process faster, please submit an adoption application through our website. This in no way obligates you - it simply gets you approved to meet/adopt our horses. You can also call us at 864-972-9994.
