My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruce is a 1 year-old neutered male black lab. Bruce weighs 53 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 8 and up.

April 3, 2017: Bruce is a very healthy pup. He needed to gain some weight when he arrived, but his fosters fed him well and he looks great now- long and lean. He is a silly boy- always wants to play- loves to chase and play tug of war with his lab foster brother, but when he tires out he can occupy himself with an antler or squeaky stuffed toys. He would like a fenced yard to run and play! He would love to snuggle up beside you in bed and will sleep there the whole night! His foster family is working hard on his commands an manners. They have improved so much in 2 weeks. Bruce gets very excited to play with other dogs when taking walks but does much better on a gentle leader.

Mar 27, 2017: Bruce loves to play chase with his foster brother - check out the video! He went for a three mile hike with his foster dad over the weekend and had a blast! He's settling in and improving with every day. This sweet boy is looking for his forever home with someone who will give him lots of love and attention, as well as training- his is a quick learner! He already learned "stay!"

Update 3/21/2017: Bruce is looking for a home with someone who is not gone for a long work day, who will enjoy his playful puppy antics, and who can give him lots of exercise. Bruce gets excited to meet new people and animals, but once he gets over his excitement he settles down nicely for the best snuggles! He is a quick learner and will need someone to continue formal training. His favorite things are toys to play tug or chew on, a window to watch outside, and lots of love and pets from his people. Bruce knows sit, come and is quickly learning stay. He gets along great with the resident dog.

Bruce is a high energy youngster who enjoys playing with everyone and everything. He is looking for an active family that will provide proper exercise, training, mental stimulation, and lots of love. Bruce pulls on lead and would benefit from the use of a no-pull type harness. Bruce is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. He is good with children and has lived with kids. He does amazingly well with the kids and doesn’t jump on them. So Bruce is approved for ages 8 and up.

Bruce is current on vaccines. Will need Lepto and Bordatella boosters between 4/2 and 4/9. Bruce weighs 53 pounds but should weigh ~60 pounds.
