Rocky's Story...
Hi, I’m Rocky, and I’m a champion kind of a guy! Just like my film counterpart, I too have a rags-to-riches story…wandering the streets alone as a stray, with no place to rest my head or family to call my own. Being in rescue is a huge step up, and I know that Round 3 will be my best yet—see, that’s when I find a forever home! I’ll happily share the ring with other dogs, cats, or respectful children 5+. And after a day of sparring, I won’t mind bedding down in my crate for a little R&R. Just like the other Rocky, I’m kindhearted, loyal, and want to knock out loneliness with happiness in a forever family of my own! 11 months old-12lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Portland Dachshund/Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Rat Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund/Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
