My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chicken is an Alaskan Husky that is approximately 9 years old. She is incredibly smart. She is also extremely affectionate and enjoys the company of other dogs and adults. Chicken is house and crate trained. She loves to play with and hoard her toys. Chicken also enjoys car rides. Although she technically has hip dysplasia and cannot participate in "pulling sports", it does not show/slow her down! She is an active dog looking for an active friend (she currently walks multiple miles per day, and enjoys going for one walk in AM and one in PM). She is not one to bark excessively or really at all. She is very loving and goofy. Chicken's ideal home will have at least one other dog for her to befriend and play with. Chicken's ideal home will also be in a rural setting with a secure yard that enables her to safely stretch her legs and play outdoors. If Chicken sounds like the perfect friend for you, then send us a message today!

Our adoption fee is $250 and includes: health certificate, microchip, updated bordetella, dhlpp and rabies vaccines, spay or neuter surgery (if not already altered), a harness and use of Whistle tracker for 3 months.

Things To Consider Before You Adopt
- Our adoptable sleds dog are used to living in an outdoor, working environment. This means that they will need to be house trained and exposed to "house stimulus" like stairs, cars, vacuums, wood floors etc. Adopting an adult sled dog is similar to welcoming a puppy.
- Our adoptable sled dogs range from medium to high energy. In general they require multiple walks daily and engaging toys when inside the home. A bored/under exercised sled dog can be a destructive and anxious sled dog!
- Our adoptable sled dogs are trained to run and are therefore a high flight risk. We do require that they be on leash or within a fenced in yard at all times until proper recall training has been received.
- Our adoptable sled dogs have befriended many kitties in their new homes, that being said adopters are instructed to monitor all interactions with small animals as our four-leggers have limited exposure to them while with us and there is no telling how they may react.
