Bio.
Oakley is a neutered, four year old Welsh Terrier. He was born in March of 2013 and purchased from a Wisconsin breeder. Oakley was just at the vet for his annual checkup and received all his shots and preventive care. He has been given a clean bill of health! Due to an older dog in the home with allergies, Oakley was brought up on Prescription diet food. Oakley does not have allergies but his system is used to this type of food and we have been unsuccessful with finding an alternative brand.
Oakley is full of energy and enjoys/needs daily walks. With a simple command, he will walk by your side and not pull if he sees distractors. Welsh terriers are smart dogs and Oakley is no exception. Professionally trained to leave it, sit and stay, if you practice the commands with him, he will follow through. Oakley is good with dogs of all sizes. He grew up with a large breed dog. He loves to play with other dogs and will try to get them to interact with him. Oakley wants to play and desires people to play with him. He will learn to like things like sprinklers and pools if that is what you are doing.
Occasionally, jumping up on people and grabbing clothing can be an issue for him. With consistent training and time for practice, he's sure to learn not to. He does have nipping and barking with the adult children and this has proved difficult in the home.
Oakley would do best in a home where he has the opportunity to get his energy out. He seeks attention and opportunities to play with others.
