Franklin's Story...
Hello! My name's Franklin, aka your new best friend! I'm a super happy and friendly guy, who was recently brought to the shelter after being found as a stray. I'm not sure what happened to my family, but the people here at the shelter say they lost a special boy the day they lost me!

I love everyone I meet, and just I know I'd love you! Before I go to a new home I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will also have a microchip. Now all I need is someone like YOU to take me home and love me! Sound like a plan?? The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Franklin, a Youngwood Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
