found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
Ready to meet Mr. Right, your new McDreamy? Sheldon has stolen our hearts. Sheldon is 3 years old, weighs 4 lbs, and is an absolute doll. All Sheldon wants in life is some sun to lie in and someone to cuddle up next to. Sheldon came to us as a stray with a mouth full of bad teeth and a luxating patella that made his leg not usable. We have had both issues fixed, and Sheldon couldn't be happier.
Sheldon has 2 quirks a new family must be ready and willing to accept. Even though he is afraid of his own shadow, he barks at strangers. He thinks he is a big, bad kid who needs to bark at strangers to keep mommy safe but is a big chicken when they get close. He acclimates to new people quickly, but he takes his job of scaring off strangers very seriously.
Also, Sheldon refuses to kennel train. He cannot go a full 8 hours without pottying. We've tried everything from small kennels to kennels big enough for a great dane. If you leave him in a kennel, he will potty then attempt to bury it. In the process of burying it, he makes a mess. What has worked best for Sheldon and his foster is a bathroom or bedroom with potty pads. He uses potty pads wonderfully and goes outside to potty every chance he can.
Sheldon is looking for a home that will let him sleep under the blankets at night. We ask that his new home have no small children due to his very small, fragile body and him being afraid of his own shadow.
If you would like to adopt Sheldon, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.com. His adoption fee, including transportation to CT with vetting paperwork, microchip registration to adopter, collar & harness, is $400.
