Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rusty was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He has been in training for several months at the Grafton Correctional Institute and is now a proud Prison Graduate. He has been trained in obedience, basic commands, manners, proper leash walking and house training. Rusty is back at Friendship waiting for his forever home.
Rusty is a 2 year that arrived at Friendship because his owner was having personal problems. He is good with kids and was a shy dog before going into training. Rusty is an Azawakh Hound mix. His owner did not provide any information on his personality but here's a few tidbits about Azawakh Hounds. "The Azawakh is a hound or a hunting dog and more specifically, a sighthound. A sighthound is a dog that hunts using its excellent eyesight as opposed to a scent hound which hunts using its keen sense of smell. They are good guard dogs and loyal companions. They are known to have good health and need at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Azawakhs like to be near others of the same breed and hate cold weather."
If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
