Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To meet Elsa, please fill out our application at: http://ajsbestfriends.org/all-pets/questionnaire/ I recently took in this young female. She is spayed and is current on shots as of the beginning of this month. I have had her for about 3 months as the neighbor did not take care of her. She was competing with ants for her food. Besides the bites on her face and ears, she had mats that I had to cut out. She is very sweet and I cannot keep her because of allergies that my daughter and grandkids have. She is OK with dogs that like cats. I have a small dog (28 lbs) that she rubs up against and they are trying to learn to play together. She is just not sure of his intentions since he got jealous a couple of times and snarled. They can be and are left alone during the day. When left alone, she does well and has no anxieties. She has been inside for a month since she was spayed and has had no accidents. She will cry to go outside to do her business, but, will use the litter box. I suggest a closed box since she is messy with her digging.
She likes to play with wand toys and the laser pointer. She has not quite learned to play very long on her own. She does not like to be held and is not a lap kitty. I am working on those two things. She has a "throw rug" fetish and will attack the corners. I use a spray bottle for discipline and so far it has begun to work. I protected my furniture with the sticky tape for the learning process. I am feeding her a quarter can of Friskies Whitefish and Tuna pate' with a little water (warmed up) morning and night. I keep about a cup of dry food for her to munch on during the day. Of course she loves catnip and she will get a pinch on her scratching box once a day. Maybe that is why she sleeps there from time to time. She likes taking walks (not leash trained) with me and the dog. When she is slow or a little unsure I just give here a little whistle and she comes along a little faster. I am sure she would be an excellent pet for someone with kind animals and quiet children. If she had a kitty condo to go to and scratch on, she would be most happy. She is the sweetest kitty and has only shown her claws a couple of times while under the influence of catnip. She talks a lot, especially when you talk to her.
