My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We were tagged in a Facebook post about Metta. She was found by a Corridor resident and her daughter while they were walking on a trail. We assume she was dumped in this wooden area due to her not being able to walk like other dogs. Her back legs are stiff but she can use them.

Metta has a broken spine and crushed pelvis. This is an old injury that has healed. There is nothing that can be done for her surgically. The vet does not think she has pain and that she does not need a cart.

Metta is a adorable Chihuahua and was born around August 2016. She is still a puppy at only 7 month old. Her foster mom named her Metta which means loving kindness, the Buddhist virtue of kindness.

Here is what she has to say about sweet Metta:
This precious puppy is affectionate, funny, cute and playful. She loves toys, especially the squeaky ones. She is great with people, both, adults and children. She also gets along great with her same sized, furry foster sibling. Metta is currently being house trained but she is already crate trained, walks perfectly on leash and listens very well. She has the energy of a puppy and her legs do not keep her from being playful at all.

Metta hopes to find a family who will love her unconditionally until the end. She is eager to do the same in return.

**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas and is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175.

We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters.

Metta is part of our Continuing Care program. Her adoption fee is waived and we will reimburse medical costs up to $250 per year
