Judy AKA VELVET's Story...
Judy is such a sweet cat- looking for someone to just give her a scratch and some loving- She currently is in a foster home and longs for her own home. She is not solid black- she has white paws and half a white lip and white all under her neck!
Her fur is very very soft and shiny almost like silk or velvet which is why so many volunteers have been calling her velvet.
Judy was found as a stray hanging out in a landscapers yard. She was so gentle that she was getting beat up by the male feral cats so we rescued her from the yard. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for Fiv/Felv, and dewormed. She also loves to be vacuumed(with the nozzle of course)-The vet says she is about a year old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Judy AKA VELVET, a Lake Ronkonkoma American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Lake Ronkonkoma, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lake Ronkonkoma.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lake Ronkonkoma already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lake Ronkonkoma breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lake Ronkonkoma paves the way for another one to be saved.
