Lucy's Story...
Meet Lucy! Lucy is an energetic and outgoing young dog that is looking for a home. Lucy is about 2-3 years old but very immature in ways. She is about 60lbs. Lucy would love a home where her new owners have had prior experience with training and have established leadership skills with dogs. Lucy loves to go for regular walks and is very sociable, but needs guidance on how to channel her enthusiasm. Lucy seems to do very well with other dogs. She has made many friends here, and enjoys their company. Lucy prefers to be around her peeps and is most comfortable being surrounded by family/friends. Lucy would be a wonderful addition to a family with older children, 13+, due to her size. If you are interested in adding Lucy to your life or what to know more about her, please Contact us at West Hartford Animal Control 860-570-8818 or email us Animalcontrol@westhartfordCT.gov.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a West Hartford American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in West Hartford, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in West Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
