My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Molly and she needs help urgently. She is a friendly and very sweet yellow lab. She has a health problem and needs a very kind and compassionate person to give her a new home where she gets the love and the care she deserves.

Molly is a 7 - 1/2 year old yellow lab. She was adopted by her present owner when she was 11 weeks old. She is quite small like both of her parents.

About 3 years ago, Molly developed a health problem that requires her to have twice weekly vitamin B-12 shots (not expensive) in order to digest her food. She is unable to absorb B -12 from her food so it must go directly into the blood stream. She needs to eat raw/cooked food with vegetables but she can't eat kibble. This malabsorption problem causes problems with elimination for Molly. She cannot go longer than about 4 hours without having to go outside to the bathroom - day and night. Molly needs a home where someone is home during the day; awake in the night too or where there is a doggy door so she can come and go when she has the need. Her present owner cannot care for her much longer. Currently, Molly spends most of her time outside and is alone and confined to the garage at night.

Molly's health problem doesn't seem to affect her energy level or her enthusiasm for exercise and the outdoors. She loves walking, running, hiking and being on the go! With regular exercise, Molly is ready to relax at home or go out for a nice ride in the car. For people who love walking or hiking and being outside she is the perfect companion.

Molly is a real people dog. She is friendly with other dogs but being with people makes her the happiest. She doesn't usually play or show much interest in other dogs but she loves to make friends with their people! And if cats come with people, they are ok too!!

There is a lot of life left for Molly to live and she needs to find someone who is willing to help her live it. Her health disability is very manageable and she is well worth the effort it will require to care for her. She will return the love by being a wonderful and loyal friend.
