Facts about Rosie

  • Breed: Chihuahua Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Meet Rosie! She is about 1 year old and is a spayed Chihuahua mix. Rosie is a very loyal girl and loves to be the center of your attention! She would prefer her future home to be calm and quiet, most likely without many visitors as she becomes nervous around strangers. She is a super sweet and fun girl if she is comfortable around you. Rosie is an active girl and loves to exercise - the more the better! Regarding other dogs, Rosie can be dominant and would probably do best as the only animal in the home. Rosie is mostly house-trained and is accustomed to sleeping in her crate. She would make the best companion to someone who is home often and has time to dedicate to her. Rosie loves squeaky toys and playing fetch with a tennis ball. Is she your forever dog?

About Michiana Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Michiana Humane Society has been helping our community's unwanted animals find homes for nearly 100 years. We believe that animals belong with families, and we do whatever we can to make that happen!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The shelter is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for adoptions. You can find news of our activities on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MichianaHumaneSocietySPCA) or our website.

Our Adoption Process...

Looking for a dog or cat? Here's how we do adoptions at MHS. Come into the shelter and find the pet you want to add to your family. Fill out an application form and leave it at the front desk. Then you call us the next morning to find out if you're approved!

Once your adoption is approved, if the pet is already spayed or neutered you can come in, complete the adoption contract, and take your baby home.

If a spay or neuter is required, MHS will schedule it within the next week. Once your pet's surgery is complete, you can come in and pick up.

Adoption fees are $135 for dogs and $85 for cats. That includes all initial vaccinations (except rabies), spay or neuter if required, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, and flea treatments.
