HAWK will make your heart SOAR!
This beautiful long-limbed pup was found abandoned in an orchard with only his dog bed to comfort him. No food or water was left; still he waited loyally like the good boy he is for someone to return.
Luckily a Good Samaritan saw and rescued him and now this sweet, sensitive dog has a seat on The Rescue Train and a one way ticket to your heart.
Hawk is a 1 year old Dane/Labrador mix.
He is as sweet as can be and will be a loving and affectionate companion in the right home.
Hawk does have a little edge to him; it might take him awhile to totally trust again after his abandonment at such an early age, but he really wants to and tries hard to please.
Hawk loves people, and wants to be everywhere the people are. He’s playful and smart but sometimes he doesn’t know his own strength and size, so he wouldn’t be a good match for small children or senior citizens because he could accidentally knock someone over.
He would be great for a person that has experience with large dogs and is looking for a special soul as a companion.
Hawk has a lot of energy and is fun to be around. He needs an active person who has the time and effort to work with him at this young age and provide lots of positive reinforcement.
Hawk is very trainable and would make a great running or hiking partner. He is crate trained and his new family must be willing to use this tool to give him structure and then gradual freedom. He will need a secure yard.
We think Hawk would be best only dog, and with active adults and older children.He has shown some reactivity with other dogs and is currently being fostered by a certified professional dog trainer so we can learn more about him with other animals.
This super-pup is a strong but gentle and friendly dog, he longs to belong to someone and have someone belong to him. He wants someone who will understand, appreciate and love him. In return you will get a loyal, loving and best friend for life.
Hawk is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped.
