Maxwell's Story...
Meet Maxwell! Maxwell is a stunning kitty with a luxurious, medium-haired coat looking for his forever home. Maxwell came to ACL from a high-volume shelter where he was found as a stray. He's a very fun cat to watch as he goes about his business - he loves to explore, play, and rub in-between your legs for attention. Sometimes it seems as if Maxwell can't decide what to do first! He loves to be up high - as soon as he's out of his cage, after using the big, tall scratching post, he hops up to the windows to check out what's going on outside. Maxwell has a moderately high energy level and will love if his adopters can set aside at least 15 minutes each day for dedicated play-time. He's looking for a home where he'll be able to spend quality time with his human companions but also time on his own exploring and being the naturally independent kitty he is! He'd do best in a home with adults and/or older children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxwell, a Oak Park Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
