Facts about Smart Jax

  • Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie Mix
  • Color: Merle
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Jax is a young, happy Australian Cattle Dog mix at the perfect size of around 30 lbs.! Jax is a bit nervous with new people but once, he's comfortable, he's so sweet, loving, and loyal, and builds such a strong bond.
Jax is super intelligent, housetrained, does not mark or lift his leg, knows how to use a doggie door, and knows lots of commands and is easy to walk.
He has lived with two medium/large dogs and can potentially live with other appropriate, tolerant medium dogs if introduced properly. Jax plays very well with his foster parent's medium-sized dog. He has also lived with cats and is fine with mellow ones. He has also lived with foster kittens on several occasions and has done very well with them.
Jax' ideal home would be fairly calm and quiet adult household but with an active lifestyle and access to yard. Jax loves to go for long walks and hikes and to explore new places, fetch tennis balls, chew on bones and toys, find toys or food, and work for treats. He can also entertain himself well and does not appear to have any separation anxiety or similar issues. He mainly rests quietly when alone. Check out this fantastic dog!

About Streetsmarts Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Streetsmarts Rescue is a "one-woman" operated, private rescue. Ingrid of Streetsmarts Rescue tries to help cats and all dog breeds but specializes in Pit Bulls/American Staffordshire Terriers.
Streetsmarts Rescue Animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped prior to adoption. Our dogs receive rehabilitation, basic and sometimes intensive training and socialization before placed into loving and responsible homes.
Streetsmarts Rescue also does outreach to people in the neighborhood and helps with cat trapping, transporting animals to the vet, supplying food and toys and sometimes FREE basic obedience training.
Streetsmarts Rescue can only take in very few animals at a time and always needs YOUR support.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All animals for adoption can be met after filling out an adoption application. Please call or e-mail Streetsmarts Rescue to receive an adoption application.
We show our animals by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

The Streetsmarts Rescue adoption is $300. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and often expensive treatment and/or training.
Every application has to fill out an application prio to meeting the animal. The application has to be approved by Streetsmarts Rescue.
Streetsmarts Rescue will check references and conduct a home-visit prior to adoption.
An adoption contract has to be signed and if the animal can no longer be kept, after adoption, the animal HAS to be returned to Streetsmarts Rescue.
