Lady is a 3.5 year old girl who is perhaps the chillest 53 lb chicken nugget you’ll ever meet. Aside from the occasional romp around the backyard or wiggly butt it’s-time-to-eat happy dance, Lady is most content spending her days curled up next to you on the couch, sunbathing in the yard or napping in her crate with her baby* while you’re gone. She has no desire for doggy daycare or the dog park—she just wants you and a soft place to land. Literally, all she dreams of in life is companionship, a blanket and her baby. She is frequently known to be “belly up”—a trusting soul who will never pass up a belly rub. She is a powerful dog with the most tender heart, and a single “no” is enough to correct her and stop her in her tracks. She is loyal as the day is long, incredibly eager to please, quick to learn and understands the benefit of positive reinforcement—she will sit at the mere sight of a “tweaty” and will take it oh so gently from your hand. She knows basic commands such as sit, come and stay, and is learning more and more every day. She is solid as a rock and soft as a bunny. She loves her eyes rubbed, her belly scratched and a kiss on the cheek before bed each night. Lady's mellow personality is best suited for a reasonably calm home. She shares her foster home with 2 senior labs. They took the introductions very slow, but now are the three amigos. They act like they have been friends for life.
*Lady’s “baby” is her favorite unicorn-teddy bear hybrid toy which she meticulously and immediately deactivated the squeaky functionality so all that was left was a soft and silent googly-eyed fluff ball that she carries around the house with her and uses as a pillow each night. “Baby” and Lady are a packaged deal.

LADY is spayed, micochipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $300 adoption fee includes her cost of transport after she is adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. Why Adoption is a Great Option

LADY, a Nashville Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders who help with Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
