Inkie was found as a single mom raising her 4 boys and doing a great job protecting them and keeping them fat and healthy. They were all picked up as strays, which is how she ended up in our program. She is highly intelligent, never misses a thing, and will thrive in a home where people appreciate a dog who truly loves to be a companion and family member. If there are any other female dogs, she's going to want to be Queen . . . and she deserves it!!
Her foster mom writes:
"When I first brought her into my home she became the most loving and gentle dog. She loves to just lay around and relax but also loves to play and have a good tug a war game with my little 10 lb Terrier. She will grab the end of the sock and will pull my little Terrier across the floor as the floor is slick. Inkie will come up to me and lay her head on my hand so gentle wanting me to pet her. I will look down and she will have her head laying on the end of my chair saying "Can I come up?" Well, how do you say no? Inkie is definitely one of those dogs I will truly miss when she is gone. She is one of the sweetest loving dogs I have ever had the pleasure to foster."
From her "street days", Inkie sometimes exhibits overly-confident behavior with other dogs, like placing her paw over the head of other dogs, puffing up her chest when greeting, but it's clearly because she had to fend for herself for so long. We are taking her to doggy playdates and she is gaining the confidence to simply play with all the other dogs. She has always been great with kids and wonderful with small dogs. Inkie is about 2 - 3 years old, she weighs about 60 pounds and she is a very healthy girl. We have no idea what her true mix is but she inherited her intelligence from one of her parents!
