My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mawana is a senior kitty who's had a hellish life and finally we have her inside and getting her healthy, living in a normal loving home for the first time in her entire life. She is a project, she's touchable and loves to be petted and brushed and is enjoying life finally.

Her story is one of a unhappy existence. She's been in a barn and on a farm her whole life, unvetted, pregnant most of the spring, summer and fall. Coyotes regularly would come into the barn and eat most of the kitten litters there. There were over 130 cats in and around the barn. Last summer a handful of farm workers came in with rifles and killed, shot, ninety some kitties all in one shooting spree.

Fifteen cats were rescued by a family relative to the farm and took those cats into her home to get them well and find them homes. Mawana was one of six still in the barn, living in fear, suffering from upper respitory illnesses, having kittens, never being able to watch them grow up, because raccoons and coyotes continued to eat them.

Finally Mawana and one of her older kittens who was ill but pregnant got their chance to be transported to a foster so they could both finally have their kittens in a safe loving environment and get treated for ear infection, eye infection, a ripped claw and other things that they never had a vet visit before.

We got them to our vet, found out Mawana was not pregnant but completely clogged and couldn't poop. She was literally impacted with waste. We got her there just in time. Xray's revealed she wasn't pregnant but impacted. She's been on laxative and had her anal glands expressed and finally she could go.

Also and shockingly, the vet realized both she and Meadow, the other kitty, were toothless. They must have had dental disease for years and lost all their teeth. We were very sad she was left to suffer for years. She was treated and continues to be treated and is using a litter box, Enjoying human companionship and human touch and she's a small kitty and desperate to be someone's companion.

She's able to eat even though she's toothless and the vet assures us that she'll be able to continue to eat and thrive.

Someone with a very big heart and a desire to share their lovely home with a very sad kittie who is finally enjoying life for the first time is what is needed for this girl now. If you think you can provide her a loving home, please call or text me at 517 294 4514. Or email me at marlas2468@yahoo.com.

It's amazing to me to see animals who have suffered so severely and still have it in their capacity to want to love and share themselves with humans who have failed them for years and years.
